Compared to traditional silicon carbide arresters, CYG surge arresters offer significantly improved V-A characteristics characteristics and enhanced surge energy absorption capacity. Under normal operating conditions, the leakage current remains extremely low—at the microampere level—while during overvoltage events, they instantly discharge surge energy, with current capabilities reaching several thousand amperes.
The CYG surge arrester is housed in a composite polymeric casing that provides excellent aging resistance. It complies with ANSI/IEC standards and is available for customization. Key specifications include a nominal discharge current of 10kA and a rated voltage range from 3kV to 42kV.
Excellent non-linear V-A characteristics and strong current-carrying capacity; extremely small current (Class A) under normal working voltage, and can instantly release energy when encountering overvoltage, effectively limiting overvoltage damage to equipment.
