Representing the company's debut in Indonesian IPP thermal power projects, the secondary equipment for the entire 275kV substation received full approval from Indonesia's state-owned electricity company (PLN). The successful handover of auxiliary facilities helped achieve a complete commercial closed loop for the project, opening a new scenario for cooperation between Chinese enterprises and the Indonesian power sector.

Project Details

This project is the first "Greenfield" clean thermal power project invested and constructed overseas by China Datang Group, positioned as a primary power support point for the northern region of Sumatra Island, Indonesia. CYG SUNRI undertook the task of supplying the NCS system for the power plant's step-up substation and the complete set of secondary equipment for the 275kV substation within the auxiliary facilities, providing full-cycle support for project construction and commissioning. During execution, the project team overcame difficulties such as a shortage of commissioning resources caused by the pandemic and language barriers with local engineers. By proactively developing multilingual technical manuals and implementing a "remote collaboration + on-site joint commissioning" model, the team efficiently advanced project implementation. The successful commissioning of the project not only alleviated local power shortages and optimized Indonesia's power structure but also signified that CYG SUNRI's secondary equipment technology and services have gained authoritative recognition from PLN. This has accumulated valuable experience for expanding into the IPP thermal power market in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, while injecting new momentum into China-Indonesia power cooperation.
