Project Details
This project is the supporting transmission project for the 211MW Memve'ele Hydroelectric Station in Cameroon and is a core backbone grid project for the national grid. CYG SUNRI was responsible for the complete secondary system for the 225kV substation, including the supply and system integration of full-station protection and measurement & control devices, telecontrol communication systems, and a background SCADA monitoring system.
The project traverses tropical rainforests, hills, and swampy areas, with harsh environmental conditions and complex construction circumstances. The project team strictly adhered to IEC international standards combined with local Cameroon grid specifications and successfully completed equipment factory testing, on-site commissioning, joint commissioning and grid connection, and operation and maintenance training, ensuring the safe, stable, and efficient transmission of the station's power into the national grid. Since its commissioning, the project has significantly improved the transmission capacity, power supply reliability, and intelligence level of the Cameroon power grid, becoming a model project for China-Africa power cooperation.
