Project Scale: 11 substations covering various regions across the Philippines
Project Status: First batch tender win by a domestic secondary equipment manufacturer for similar projects at NGCP
Commissioning Time: May 2025
Breaking the monopoly of foreign manufacturers, CYG SUNRI became the first domestic secondary equipment manufacturer to secure a batch contract for such projects at NGCP. The team successfully overcame challenges including cross-regional site surveys and complex procedures to achieve efficient delivery.
The project provided EPC services for the monitoring backend retrofit of 11 cross-regional substations for NGCP. CYG SUNRI was responsible for the entire process, including site investigation, design, supply, transportation, installation and commissioning, and acceptance. Execution faced multiple challenges such as scattered sites, tight survey schedules, complicated site access procedures, difficult construction team management, and lagging drawing confirmations. By optimizing resource allocation and strengthening collaborative communication with the client—proceeding with production according to bidding drawings while synchronously optimizing update plans—the company ultimately overcame schedule pressure and successfully completed project delivery. The retrofitted monitoring backend significantly improved the automation level of Philippine power grid stations, facilitated grid monitoring and maintenance, enhanced grid reliability and stability, and received high recognition from the client.
